FILM STUDIES: Theories and Applications is an insightful presentation of the ways Indian novels have been adapted by Hollywood and Bollywood Directors. The book is very interesting and highly readable especially because it deals with the process of transportation of literature into films. Swagat Patel
 Dr. Swagat Patel hails from Sambalpur town of Odisha. After pursuing M.A. and M.Phil. from Savitribai Phule Pune University in Pune, Maharashtra, he completed his Ph.D. on the topic Books in Motion from the same University. At present, he is working as Assistant Professor of English at GLA University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh. With an intense passion for the art of movie-making, he also has the experience of working in the Bollywood film industry as an Assistant Director in Balaji Telefilms, Mumbai, and in various Ad films; as a Story-Editor in Mehboob Studio, Bandra, Mumbai. Dr. Patel has also published research articles in National and International Journals, and presented papers in National and International Conferences.
